shana + evan . wedding 07.24.08

sparks went off a day early when shana + evan got married on july 3rd at the westin buckhead! they had an orthodox jewish ceremony and i just love the rich traditions and customs that are part of these celebrations. first off, the bride + groom are in separate rooms before the ceremony and are likened to being a queen + king for the day as they receive guests. in the grooms room, the ketubah is signed and then the groom is led to the room of his bride to lift her veil and make sure that she is his chosen bride. this is a really emotional moment and this custom dates back to the time of jacob when he was tricked into marrying the wrong bride because he could not look under her veil before the ceremony. fortunately, evan did not have this problem! then the ceremony takes place under the chuppah canopy which symbolizes the home that the bride + groom will share which will be full of hospitality...which is sure to be the case with this very gracious + super fun couple! didn't know you would get a mini history lesson on this blog, now did you? well, let's just suffice it to say that scott had a really great time with shana + evan and all their guests! here's our favorites from their amazing wedding...

lauren + dylan . wedding 07.21.08

it was another fabulous wedding at serenbe - we just love that venue! lauren + dylan were so fantastic to work with! to top it off, design savvy shannan at gloriosa created a simple but elegant affair and suzette from gooseberry creative events made sure everything flowed perfectly from start to finish. and i'm pretty sure this wedding tops our list for having guests that have traveled the farthest. dylan is actually from south africa and his mom and 2 of his 3 brothers and several friends came all the way from south africa and his twin sister came over from london for the wedding! we had a super hard time narrowing down our favorites from their wedding... so settle in and get comfy, this post is loaded with photos!
lauren looked radiant in her gown! and her bouquet had peonies which in one of my favorite flowers!
dylan and his bros
one of dylan's adorable nephews! along with his brother they were the cutest ring bearers EVER!
their little tuxes were paired up with skull and crossbone vans!
a little game of pre-ceremony peekaboo!
lauren is a teacher and catharine (the officiant) was one of her favorite teachers! i love that!
i love all the emotion that unfolds immediately after the ceremony
serenbe is just an amazing place and lends itself for lots of fantastic spots for portraits...
first dance sweet moment
toast time...followed by a little good humor roast time!
thanks for holding that kiss perfectly still for 6 seconds for this long exposure!
congratulations again lauren + dylan! we had a fantastic time working with both of you and we wish you both the happiest life!
